ABOUT ANTONIA

Antonia is an award-winning nature film maker based in Wales UK. She holds a Masters degree in Wildlife Documentary Production with Wildlife Biology, Ecology and Behaviour (Distinction).

Working in the outdoors, she focuses on Natural History, landscape and adventure, and promotes British wildlife, outdoor pursuits and environmental campaigns.

As shooting director/ producer and qualified drone pilot her feel-good documentaries and environmental campaigns have increased funds, awareness and support for organisations such as the Wildlife Trust, the Seawatch Foundation and WWF, whilst also featuring in numerous film festivals and achieving several awards.

For the last three years as full time shooting film film director/ producer, editor and photographer for a rapidly growing presenter-led gardening YouTube channel Grow Veg, she has helped to improve the channel’s production quality, resulting in it becoming the UK’s most watched gardening YouTube channel.

Her creativity is inspired by the mountains, rivers and oceans which she accesses through her extensive training in outdoor skills. As a Dive Master, expedition assessor, canoeist and qualified drone operator, Antonia is able to access hard to reach areas whilst having the interpersonal and language skills to manage challenging situations in remote places.

Working on location regularly, Antonia is at home with camera equipment maintenance, including rigging and de-rigging as well as a comprehensive repertoire of filming techniques such as long lens, macro, slow motion and time lapse as well as various audio systems. Her role entails logging of rushes which must be kept meticulously organised.

She has experience of TV camera operation using studio broadcast cameras as well as run and gun, while her photography has been published in various media including the Huffington Post and BBC Countryfile Magazine. Antonia firmly believes in the positive impact of science communication through creative media to increase awareness of wildlife conservation and environmental issues.

Her production skills are supported by her expedition leadership and logistics management experience for projects across Africa, South America and her homeland Wales. With her extensive outdoor pursuits training she has many years’ experience of driving mini buses and trailers and has developed a bank of advantageous skills for filming in the field but is equally at home working remotely to meet editing and graphic design deadlines.

 TESTIMONIALS

“Antonia’s commitment, dedication, enthusiasm and professionalism towards the project was outstanding which culminated in a beautiful film. I would certainly re-commission her for any future projects.”
Andrew Paddison, 2020, endurance cyclist/ client.

"We were absolutely delighted with the (first) film Antonia created because it captured the essence of the nature reserve and activity... very sensitively. Following that success we asked if she could film an interview with a lichen expert - again we were really pleased with the film - a great mix of conversation and species shots. We have just put her films onscreen at the reserve and on our Youtube channel and they look great.

"I do think that part of the success of the filming was down to Antonia's kind personality and supportive attitude. She was very gentle with people and they all responded well to her. We thoroughly enjoyed working with her and would certainly recommend her to other organisations."

Darylle Hardy, Conservation Manager, Radnorshire Wildlife Trust.
